I was petrified. I'd tell anybody that was apprehensive about dental work that if they come here there is no pain and the fear was totally gone when I met the staff. They're just awesome. It was an awesome experience for me

I hold the Guinness World Record for being the biggest Coward. My Fear kept me from getting my dental work done for years. Dr. Ron listened to what I had to say. He turned my nightmare into a Wonderful experience! If I had known my dental experience was going to be like this, I would have done it years ago!
Brenda Waters,Jeffersonville, IN.
I would suggest for anybody to come see Dr. Ron. He and his staff make you feel at ease. One thing that I like about Dr. Ron is that he was able to do all of my treatment. I didn’t have to run all over town seeing multiple doctors to get my work done. I just really like him.

Prior to sedation dentistry, dental procedures were a nightmare for me. Crying before I would even make the appointment. Now, with sedation dentistry, I’m much more relaxed. I absolutely love the team here. I’ve actually driven three hours home from college to come in because I wouldn’t go to any other dentist.

Dr. Ron has just been wonderful from the get-go. He allows me the time that I need, because I have certain needs that others may not have. If you're having problems, you really need to go see my dentist, Dr. Ron, because he's the absolute best. He will take care of what you need and want out of your dental experience, which is great teeth and no pain.

How Sedation Dentistry Works |
Welcoming Visit / First AppointmentThis initial step is incredibly difficult for the majority of anxious people, so we do all that we can to make this as easy as possible. When you enter our office for the very first time, (normally after completing a medical history and patient information form) you will be welcomed by Dr. Receveur or one of our assistants and privately interviewed within our consulting office. Dr. Ron will discuss the challenges that you have faced in the past and any specific fears you might have. At this stage you will have every opportunity to discuss your wants and desires from your dental care / experience. If / when you feel comfortable moving forward with your treatment, we will conduct an "absolutely painless" visual exam of your teeth and gums. Throughout this process you will not once be judged or embarrassed. The #1 reason that puts people off having essential dental care frequently has nothing to do with fear or with pain, but with a sense of guilt at having put off any dental care they needed. We are a “No-Guilt, No Lecture Dental Office”. After completing the preliminary exam you will have the opportunity to discuss with Dr. Receveur what your specific goals are with regard to your dental care. We will not proceed until you are completely comfortable. Our desire is for you to be ABSOLUTELY convinced that our office is the right fit for you. Many terrified patients are in that condition because of the FEAR OF A PREVIOUS BAD DENTAL EXPERIENCE. We want to demonstrate to you that it doesn't have to be like that. You Don't Need to Be Afraid Anymore! |
Once you are entirely comfortable with the idea, we will take any required x-rays to diagnose and recommend a treatment plan specifically for you. Usually we request a few days to provide the doctor with the time required to read your x-rays, review your identified needs and desires and suggest a treatment plan for you. However, with having a considerable number of patients that travel specifically to see us, we make every effort to book an appointment for your initial visit during the morning, and have out of town patients return the same afternoon for the consultation visit. If at all possible we try to avoid you having to travel more than required. We have discovered that a lot of our patients find it useful at this second visit to bring a spouse or someone in whose presence they feel secure with them. It is at this time that we will talk about your insurance benefits (if you have dental insurance) and discuss the different options for your specific choice of treatment as well any relevant financial information.
1-2 Appointments or 8-10?
General dentistry can be considerably time consuming. Patients with complicated dental issues are often disheartened when informed it will take 8-10 appointments over a time period of several months to completely fix their teeth. This type of plan usually ends in failure for fearful patients who have struggled with painful experiences by dentists in the past. They will attend one or two appointments to free themselves from pain but forget any remaining treatment until they are suffering from pain again. Many of you are particularly familiar with this scenario because you have been through it several times. It often results in a lifetime of pain and discomfort, as well as an inability to smile because of embarrassment. Sedation Dentistry provides us with the ability to complete a complete treatment during 1 to 2 appointments instead of 8 to 10. With sedation dentistry you will also have little to no memory at all of even stepping foot within our dental office.
Your Sedation Visit
Dr. Receveur will decide on the medicine that is best to use for your sedation during your dental appointment. We request that a friend or family member come with you to the office. When you arrive you will already be very drowsy. You will be ushered into our comfort room, covered with a comfortable, warm blanket and placed on a monitor to allow us to watch your vital signs. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Receveur and our staff will look after your every need. Once your procedure is completed, your companion can take you home to complete your comfortable, relaxing day.
The Following Day
Most patients suffer no discomfort or residual effects from their dental visits, and you will be thrilled by the compliments your new and improved teeth will get. You might believe this is too good to be true. The very best part of sedation dentistry is the comfort you will feel while having all of your dental work quickly completed. We want you experience to be the most pleasurable one that you have ever had at a dental office.
Note:
During your sedation you have only one concern and that is to relax and to let our team and your medication look after you. Our objective is to have you feel completely comfortable and well cared for. The medicines used work differently for different individuals. Most of our patients rest, snore, dream and awaken to little or even no memory of their procedures. Some people do sleep more lightly than others yet they are still comfortable during the appointment. Trust that we will keep you our #1 priority throughout. We are the happiest when you also are happy. This is what is known as our win-win theory. We are excited about completing your dental treatment in a comfortable, exact, and efficient manner. If you have any additional questions please don’t hesitate to contact a member of our extensively-trained staff. You can call us at any time at (812) 399-0106.
We get lots of pleasure and fulfillment from helping a fearful patient manage their fear and anxiety.
